The New England Patriots won 10 playoff games in a row and three of four Super Bowls. A game at noisy Invesco Field in Denver, one the Patriots should have won, stood in their path toward a third consecutive title. The result of the game was shocking, as New England turned the ball over five times and ended their reign of dominance.

Unlike most Americans, I actually like soccer. This was a taste developed over many years. I now really enjoy the World Cup, just like the rest of the world outside my own country. Although the Americans were dealt a difficult hand to overcome in 2006, the USA soccer squad is a talented one and will look to raise some eyebrows in this summer's World Cup.

UFC -- The ultimate sport

A lot of people have the wrong idea about the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Some think that UFC fights consist of two bloodthirsty monsters trying to rip one another's heads off in an "anything goes" environment. In fact, UFC fighting is no more dangerous than boxing, and its participants are no less athletes. The sport would be infinitely more popular if these misperceptions did not exist.

The real MVP

The voters made a terrible decision when they made Alex Rodriguez the 2005 American League MVP. A-Rod probably was not the most valuable member of his own team. A deeper inspection of statistics and what it means to be "valuable" will reveal the truth: David Ortiz was robbed of the award.
