Spread over 220 acres at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex plays host to more than 170 events each year for professional and amateur athletes in some 30 sports. The state-of-the-art facility includes multiple venues and is home to more than 40 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championships, Atlanta Braves Spring Training, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Training Camp, the Sports Experience interactive area, and the All Star Cafe sports-themed restaurant.

For the first time in Disney Sports' history, Walt Disney World Resort will a host a race weekend designed for women. The event will include a one-mile walk, 5K run/walk and 15K run.

The 2006 Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon registration officially closed with a record number of runners, and  nearly 3,000 runners registered for Goofy’s-Race-and-a-Half-Challenge.

When Soccer America magazine was gathering information to rank the top youth soccer tournaments in the country, a trend started to develop -- the same tournament kept appearing at the top of every category: Disney’s Soccer Showcase.

In a unique twist on distance running, participants will combine the sport with international cuisine in the Race for the Taste 10K on Oct. 9 at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. Formerly Disney's 10K Classic, the race will take place in conjunction with the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which runs Sept. 30-Nov. 13.
