This week's report on FAU sports takes a look at two topics – FAU women’s basketball completes their roster with the signing of Demina Anderson, and Mickey Storey is named Freshman All-American by Baseball America.
FAU Women's Basketball adds One to Roster
Florida Atlantic University women's basketball head coach Chancellor Dugan announced the signing of Demina Anderson to a scholarship.
The 6-1 forward will join the Owls as a junior next season after transferring from Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY.
Anderson, a Bronx, NY, native, averaged 8.5 points and 8.7 rebounds for MCC as a sophomore in 2004-05. She helped led the Lady Tribunes to the 2005 NJCAA Division II National Championship. She finished second on the team in rebounding.
"I believe that her experience, having won a national championship on the junior college level, will help lead us to our first championship," said Dugan.
The addition of Anderson completes Dugan's 2004-05 recruiting class. Other commitments include Susan Beauzil (Fr, G/F, 5-11, Ft. Lauderdale/ St. Thomas Aquinas HS), Breana Cox (Fr, C/F, 6-2, Daytona Beach, FL/Seabreeze HS), Brittney Crenshaw (Fr, 5-9, Sarasota, FL/Sarasota HS), Raquel Mattis (RS, F, 6-1, Coral Springs,/Western Kentucky), and Danielle Riekeberg (Jr, C, 6-1, Kirskville, MO/Johnson County CC).
Storey Named Freshman All-American by Baseball America
