Keith Hayes

Keith Hayes got his love for writing in the 6th grade where he began writing sci-fi stories for classmates and friends, while continuing to write over the years as a personal hobby.

In 1991 after purchasing WebTV, he caught the Internet bug and began writing on various message boards and newsgroups under the pseudonym Mista Sinista. His posts became popular as he covered movie reviews, the New England Patriots, WCW and WWE (formerly WWF) wrestling. Just do a Google search for Mista Sinista or Sinista1 under groups, and you'll discover enough material to read for months.

As his debating talents developed online, he became vocal in his local newspaper, the Enterprise. He began submitting Letters to the Editor, and most of his pieces were printed on a regular basis. He also had similar success with his letters to the early years of Patriots Football Weekly. After generating some buzz and catching the eyes of readers, Keith was contacted to write for wrestling web site Wrestlenutz.com. He was then later contacted to write for a New England Patriots fan website PatriotsFootball.com, which is now known as PatsFans.com.

When covering the Pats, Keith kept his Mista Sinista attitude and reviewed the games with his "tell it like it is" style. The Patriots experience soon took off, and allowed him to meet various players, travel to a Pro Bowl in Hawaii, a Super Bowl in New Orleans, several away games in the Meadowlands, and some great games in Foxboro, where he has been a season ticket holder since 1990.

Today, he covers the New England Patriots for eSports and as a 12th Man correspondent for PatsFans.com. You can read his political and local debates on his hometown site Brockton Forums. But for a real treat, you can also see the twisted side on his moniker web site Sinista1.com, where he has some great spoofs like "Barbie and Ken's True Hollywood Story," and "Celebrity Survivor."

Most recently, Keith has become a co-host on two hit radio shows at WXBR 1460 AM in Brockton (formerly WBET). On Fridays, Keith can be heard during the "On the Mark PI Show," with his host Private Investigator Mark Chauppetta, who has his own reality television show in negotiations, and a role in the upcoming horror film Frightworld where he plays an FBI Agent hunting a serial killer who has killed his wife.

Keith is now following in his host’s footsteps after scoring a part in Walt Disney's upcoming movie "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In the movie, Keith plays a football player on QB Joe Kingman’s (Dwayne's character) Boston Rebels rival team the New York Dukes. Also joining Keith on the show is defense attorney Ken Diesenhof, and Brockton Police Officer Frank "Czman".

On Saturdays, Keith can be heard during "Krashing Into the Bigfield/The Lock Up" from noon to 4 p.m. talking sports with Enterprise writer Kevin Tocci, and aspiring actor Tom Mariano, cousin to "Boston Rob" of "Survivor/Amazing Race" fame. The show also features guests Matt Futrell, Peter Czymbor, Dennis Harris, and is produced by former Indie wrestler Mike Pavia. The South Shore Sports Show is growing, as the first two hours cover sports (professional and local), while the second two hours cover the best talk in professional and Indie wrestling.

eSports Keith "Sinista1" Hayes has been a busy guy during the football offseason, but returns with his usual prediction of what the New England Patriots may do this season, as well as other issues on his mind about the team.

The return of Tom Brady brings excitement to another level in New England.

The Sinista1 has returned to eSports, and it has been a very long time since I've had a chance to vent in a column outside of facebook, inBrockton.com, and on the radio (WXBR 1460's The Booth and Krashing into the Bigfield – ahem shameless plugs). But, it is that time of the year where I come out and give my prediction of how the New England Patriots will fair in the upcoming season, and there are a lot of intangibles to figure in as to how this team will progress.

In 2003, the Patriots opened up the season against the Bills in Buffalo, just days after releasing safety Lawyer Milloy, and got embarrassed in a 31-0 shutout against a Bills' team that quickly swooped in and picked up Milloy. That season, the Bills game was only one of two the Patriots would lose, as the they went on to finish the season 14-2 and become Super Bowl Champions after defeating the Carolina Panthers. So much for the rumors that this team had hated their coach for his decision to let Milloy go.

This season, the Pats are almost in the same boat after trading away defensive lineman Richard Seymour in a move that people are now used to since the Milloy "shocker." Seymour may have had issues (personal or contract) behind closed doors, which was a shocker to him, but the bottom line is that the NFL is a business, and no one should ever be comfortable on a team until they sign on that dotted line.

The Patriots got a first round draft pick in 2011 from a team that has become the joke of the league, a team that has had some of the best draft positions over the years, and never utilized it to their potential The Patriots will make sure they will use it well in 2011.

As for my opinion of Seymour, he was a good player at best, and spent most of his time here injured. I know he was voted to the Pro Bowl, and people remember him for this and that, but I have watched this team over the years, and I watch deeper than the surface of the game. Seymour owes a lot of the "fan love," and his status of being "great" to a guy named Jarvis Green.

Green is a guy who came in and filled his shoes, and almost every time he was asked, he held that position down, and sometimes excelled over the player he was replacing. Since 2008, Seymour had 357 tackles and 39 sacks, while Green tallied 196 tackles with 27 sacks.

In '06, Green finished with 7.5 sacks, while Seymour had 4; in '07, Green had 6.5 sacks and a career high of 39 tackles in 10 games. Green also had a huge game during the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts in which he tallied 2.5 sacks and six tackles. Green is the guy who filled in, did his job, and kept the "surface" fans from realizing that Seymour was not out there due to whatever injury he may have suffered.

Am I saying Green is a better player than Seymour? We'll find out this season since Green will be that player. As for Seymour, you can say my opinion of him is that his time here on the defense was overrated, and it was a great business move on behalf of the Patriots.

This season also sees the return of quarterback Tom Brady, who went down against Kansas City last year with a season-ending knee injury. Brady is known for his competitive hunger, and you have to think about him mentally before he went down last year.

Here is a player who went 16-0 the previous season, yet lost the Super Bowl. Before his injury, he was hungry to redeem that loss. Instead, he went down with the injury, and had to watch the team go 11-5, delaying his hunger for another year.

This season Brady has five strong running backs and a receiving corps that has one of the greatest players in the league. And, if you don't believe that, then rewind to the preseason game against the Eagles in which Philadelphia's Asante Samuel committed a smart pass interference when he pulled Randy Moss' arm, which kept him from taking what was a picture perfect bomb from Brady. If that penalty wasn't committed, Moss would have hit the jets, and rolled right into the end zone. Then, later  in the preseason, Brady-Moss would hook up for an impressive TD, which sent chills up my spine.

This season, defensive co-coordinators will have their hands full trying to stop a Patriots offense that is loaded with "hands" options, especially with the addition of Chris Baker at tight end, who pulled down his share of TD receptions during the preseason.

The Pats have some talent, and the only surprise to me is the fact that running back Laurence Maroney is still here, but will do his share of burning teams on the outside where he does his most damage.

So let me break it down for you…

The AFC East is a lock for New England this season, and I'm not crapping on the Miami Dolphins AFC East title last year because they have a big mountain to climb this season. Here's why…

1. The "Wildcat" offense is a fad in my opinion. I think beating this offense was on the mind of every coach and defensive coordinator this offseason, which is not something offenses are going to use as a major part of their system, especially a team that has Bill Parcells overseeing their operation.

2. A much tougher schedule… Prior to last season, the Dolphins were fighting for their lives to not go 0-16, and they bounced back with an easy schedule and took home the AFC East Title. This season, every team the Dolphins will play is going to respect them, and not look at them as the AFC East doormat.

Pats vs Dolphins - Record: 1-1
The Pats and Dolphins will split their season once again with the return of Jason Taylor who is known for having great games against Tom Brady. Look for the Patriots to drop their second matchup against the Dolphins, which will be their third prime-time road game in a four-game span.

Pats vs. Bills - Record: 3-1
The Buffalo Bills now have wide receiver Terrell Owens, who is known for being a "team" player during his first season with any new team. But, Owens is now on a team where he is the "star," and lacking elsewhere around him. The Pats open the season with the Bills at home, the return of a hungry Brady, and a team that realizes it must get their ducks in a row within their division, or it will cost them a spot in the playoffs, just as it did last season. I'm looking for a sweep over the Bills this season.

Pats vs. Jets - Record: 5-1
The Jets have a rookie quarterback in Mark Sanchez, and a new head coach in Rex Ryan who called out Pats coach, Bill Belichick in his press conference, making the "kiss the rings" statement. It's comments like those that make for good bulletin board fodder to inspire a team, and defensively over the years Patriots are known for eating rookie QB's for breakfast. This also comes in a season where the Pats may go with the 4-3 instead of the 3-4. I'm looking for a clean sweep of the Jets this season until Ryan can get himself situated in his position.

That takes care of the division matchups. Now lets review the other match ups for the 2009 season…

Pats vs. Falcons - Record: 6-1
After matching up with AFC East rivals for the first two weeks, the Pats come home for a two-game stint facing Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. This is another team that is under the same microscope as the Dolphins. A rookie QB last year and a team with a lot of issues. They overcame all of that, went to the playoffs and lost due to playoff inexperience. This year they are faced with a tougher schedule, and teams making sure not to look past them. The Pats are much more talented, even though the Falcons are one of the hungriest and grittiest teams in the NFC. I expect a battle, which will see the Pats will come out on top.

Pats vs. Ravens - Record: 6-2
After the Falcons, the Pats will take on the Baltimore Ravens. QB Joe Flacco is good, and this guy scares me. But, the Ravens have an aging defense that is sure to have problems chasing a receiving corps such as this one. The Pats defense is young, and Flacco may just be the QB to exploit the secondary's weakness.

Pats vs. Broncos - Record: 7-2
After the Ravens, it's off to Denver where Belichick will have a chance to face a former member of his staff, Josh McDaniels. Belichick will have his team ready, but the Broncos have not had much luck in Denver over the years. This is a different Denver with a lot of issues behind the scenes.

Pats vs. Titans - Record: 8-2
The Pats come back home to take on the Tennessee Titans. With a younger defensive corps, I expect Belichick to blitz the hell out of an aging Kerry Collins. But, the Titans are pretty solid on defense, and the O-line will have to make sure they do a good job protecting Brady.

Pats vs. Buccaneers - Record: 9-2
The Patriots head to London's Wembley Stadium to take on Tampa Bay for their next game, and I'm expecting jetlag will play havoc for both teams. The Pats should please the fans overseas as the more dominate team on defense, and I predict this may be their biggest win of the season.

Pats vs. Colts - Record: 10-2
The game against Indy is another primetime matchup for the Pats. The Colts are an aging team, their secondary is slower, and their receiving corps is nowhere near what it was two years ago. I'm looking for the Pats to crush the Colts on the road.

Pats vs. Saints - Record: 11-2
New Orleans has added some weapons on their offense, but once again this game will come down to talent, and the Patriots offense will give the Saints defense some problems.

Pats vs. Panthers - Record: 12-2
Next up are the Carolina Panthers, and the last time we saw them was at the end of last year when QB Jake Delhomme was throwing interceptions (four) to the Arizona Cardinals. Delhomme loves to give gifts, and is not the savior for the Panthers, who are in need of a new face at QB in my opinion.

Pats vs. Jaguars - Record: 13-2
The Pats close out the home season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they will have to worry about running back Maurice Jones Drew and not much else, even though I feel they will be a much more improved team this season in their division.

Pats vs. Texans - Record: 14-2
The Pats close out the season against the Houston Texans. This is a team that has been in disarray, and for some reason they just can't get it done despite how hard they try. If the Pats have clinched and the game means nothing, then the Texans will have a chance to take this game, but I doubt it.
