Keith Hayes got his love for writing in the 6th grade where he began writing sci-fi stories for classmates and friends, while continuing to write over the years as a personal hobby.
In 1991 after purchasing WebTV, he caught the Internet bug and began writing on various message boards and newsgroups under the pseudonym Mista Sinista. His posts became popular as he covered movie reviews, the New England Patriots, WCW and WWE (formerly WWF) wrestling. Just do a Google search for Mista Sinista or Sinista1 under groups, and you'll discover enough material to read for months.
As his debating talents developed online, he became vocal in his local newspaper, the Enterprise. He began submitting Letters to the Editor, and most of his pieces were printed on a regular basis. He also had similar success with his letters to the early years of Patriots Football Weekly. After generating some buzz and catching the eyes of readers, Keith was contacted to write for wrestling web site Wrestlenutz.com. He was then later contacted to write for a New England Patriots fan website PatriotsFootball.com, which is now known as PatsFans.com.
When covering the Pats, Keith kept his Mista Sinista attitude and reviewed the games with his "tell it like it is" style. The Patriots experience soon took off, and allowed him to meet various players, travel to a Pro Bowl in Hawaii, a Super Bowl in New Orleans, several away games in the Meadowlands, and some great games in Foxboro, where he has been a season ticket holder since 1990.
Today, he covers the New England Patriots for eSports and as a 12th Man correspondent for PatsFans.com. You can read his political and local debates on his hometown site Brockton Forums. But for a real treat, you can also see the twisted side on his moniker web site Sinista1.com, where he has some great spoofs like "Barbie and Ken's True Hollywood Story," and "Celebrity Survivor."
Most recently, Keith has become a co-host on two hit radio shows at WXBR 1460 AM in Brockton (formerly WBET). On Fridays, Keith can be heard during the "On the Mark PI Show," with his host Private Investigator Mark Chauppetta, who has his own reality television show in negotiations, and a role in the upcoming horror film Frightworld where he plays an FBI Agent hunting a serial killer who has killed his wife.
Keith is now following in his host’s footsteps after scoring a part in Walt Disney's upcoming movie "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In the movie, Keith plays a football player on QB Joe Kingman’s (Dwayne's character) Boston Rebels rival team the New York Dukes. Also joining Keith on the show is defense attorney Ken Diesenhof, and Brockton Police Officer Frank "Czman".
On Saturdays, Keith can be heard during "Krashing Into the Bigfield/The Lock Up" from noon to 4 p.m. talking sports with Enterprise writer Kevin Tocci, and aspiring actor Tom Mariano, cousin to "Boston Rob" of "Survivor/Amazing Race" fame. The show also features guests Matt Futrell, Peter Czymbor, Dennis Harris, and is produced by former Indie wrestler Mike Pavia. The South Shore Sports Show is growing, as the first two hours cover sports (professional and local), while the second two hours cover the best talk in professional and Indie wrestling.
Last season, I predicted the Pats would go 11-5 for various reasons, and around week 5, I realized we were witnessing something that was going to become special for Pats fans for all time. Despite the loss to the Giants in the Super Bowl, I still feel last season was great, and not just because the team ran the table for 16 games of the regular season, but fans who watched Pats' games from week 7 till the final week will probably never see that caliber of football played for consecutive weeks ever again.
As for this year, let's take a look...
Kansas City Chiefs
Head Coach Herm Edwards has had every excuse to save his job in KC, but I believe that this season Edwards is teetering on the fence and is on the verge of being knocked off. The Pats open their season at home, with rabid fans who are anxious to get the new season under way after dealing with a several stories involving the Pats and their personal lives. I expect the Pats to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, and get their biggest win of the season over a revamped and youthful Chiefs team. (1-0)
NY Jets
Head coach Eric Mangini has tried to turn the Jets into Patriots I-95 South, but this season the Jets decided to take a page from the NFC and sign QB Brett Favre, and ship QB Chad Pennington of to Miami. The Jets may have the tools to sweep the Pats this season, but they still don't know which Brett is going to show up on game day, and how are his ailing legs going to allow him to deal with a blitz heavy AFC. Can the Jets steal the early matchup from the Pats? With Brett at the helm anything is possible, but not this season as he gets his feet set. (3-0)
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are now under Tuna control, and I'm sure his mitts reach deep into the team, and if there is one thing the Tuna wouldn't mind doing , and that would be beating Bill Belichick. In the past, the Dolphins defense has given QB Tom Brady a many headaches, but this season change fell on the Dolphins after Hurricane Parcells wiped out almost everything including Jason Taylor who was shipped off to the Redskins. Look for the Pats to take advantage of the former thorn in Brady's side being pulled. (5-0)
San Francisco 49ers
The Niners have the tools, but the injury bug has played havoc with this team year after year. The Pats will meet up with the Niners after the bye, and on the road. This could be the trap game of the season, and much needed loss. (5-1)
San Diego Chargers
Nothing like a primetime game to get the Patriots fired up, but they are taking on the Chargers on the road, and they have a chip on their shoulders. Look for LT to provide the points for his team this time around. (5-2)
Denver Broncos
Coming off a two game losing streak the Pats return home on a Monday night to celebrate former Pats linebacker Andre Tippet's induction into the Hall of Fame as they present him with his HOF ring. Look for the Pats to bounce back and knock off the Broncos. (6-2)
St. Louis Rams
The Rams success is bolstered on the running game of Steven Jackson, and the amazing hands of WR Torry Holt, without these two the success of the Rams would be next to nil. Look for the Pats to stop the run & intimidate Marc Bulger. (7-2)
Indianapolis Colts
Once again Peyton Manning rears his ugly head and it would be nothing better for him to beat the Pats at home in front of his crowd once again. The only problem is that they may be light at the WR spot and the DL spot. If this is the case look for the Pats to win in Indy; if not then the Colts. (8-3)
Buffalo Bills
I like the Bills, I would love see them challenge the Pats for AFC East , but injuries and off-field issues are going hurt this team most of the season. Look for the Pats to sweep the Bills till they can clean their house. (10-3)
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are very defensive minded, and that comes right from their head coach, but the problem here is that the Pats are at home, and the fans have a hard time letting them lose. (11-3)
Seattle Seahawks
Head Coach Mike Holmgren is ready to retire at the end of the season, and his team will be playing on emotion by the time this season to give him the proper send off. A tough loss it will be hard for fans and the team. (11-4)
Oakland Raiders
What more can I say? They're the Raiders... (12-4)
Arizona Cardinals
See Above! (13-4)
