The NFL Draft is now over and there is a new group of players ready to step in and attempt to take the NFL by storm. Although it is early May, it isn't too early to start thinking about who you might want to put on your fantasy football team at the end of the summer.

Here is a look at a few of the possible top veterans and rookies for the 2007 season.

Veterans

LaDanlian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers, running back

You can't discount the fact Tomlinson is one of the most productive players in the entire NFL. He plays with a lot of intensity at all times and is a hard person to stop. He was a monster for anyone who had him on their fantasy football team in 2006 and there is no reason to think that he will have any drop off in 2007.

Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts, quarterback

Manning is a fantasy given each and every year and next year will be no exception. With the Colts looking to defend their NFL title, it can be assured that Manning and his offense will try to do everything they can to win games and get back to the big game.

Larry Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs, running back

Johnson is always good for at least a 1,000 yards per season, but there might be some issues in the Chief's offensive line this season that might lower that rushing total. However, with the kind of running style and performance that Johnson has, it is hard to imagine him not getting several 100 yard games, as well as many touchdowns.

Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers, wide receiver

After having what was an off season for the superstar performer, Smith should be back and as good as he was before. Of course, it all depends on how quarterback Jake Delhomme does playing quarterback, but Delhomme should be able to have a better season in 2007. So, look for Smith to be a top performer in 2007.

Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia Eagles, running back

A sure thing almost all the time, Westbrook was a highly productive fantasy player last season and there is no reason to think that he won't be just as productive in 2007. However, he does have a history of injury and there is always a chance that he might sit out a game or two because of injury or exhaustion, which would frustrate anyone who had him on their fantasy team.

Rookies

Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions, wide receiver

Although Johnson will be playing with the Detroit Lions, who have a quarterback that isn't as good as many other quarterbacks in the league, he should still be very productive. He should be a solid contributor to any fantasy football team he lands on.

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings, running back

Peterson could either have a great first year in Minnesota or he could have a bad one – it's tough to tell with the Vikings. If he is able to get in there and play a full 16 games behind a good offensive line then he should be able to become a very productive running back on any fantasy football team.

Robert Meacham, New Orleans Saints, wide receiver

Going to the Saints was the best thing to happen to Meacham, who will wind up in one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. It would be a safe bet that taking him somewhere in the middle to later rounds of your fantasy draft as he should be able to garner a lot of production in the Saints system.

Greg Olsen, Chicago Bears, tight end

The Bears had a pretty passing game at times last season and with this new weapon, they should be able to get some passes his way. Knowing how they used Desmond Clark in 2006, the Bears should get a lot more production out of Olsen and it would be a good move to draft him into your fantasy team.

Sure, the season hasn't started yet, but it's never too early to start thinking about who you want on your fantasy team. This is just a little information to get you thinking about who you might want to take in your fantasy draft this year.
