"You know what… Pats fans have become spoiled, and they should be ashamed of themselves; you can't win them all"

This is the first time I've had to vent in consecutive weeks since 2002, but it was bound to happen. Last weekend, the New England Patriots dropped a key game to Eric Mangini and his New York Jets, which may delay their chances capturing the AFC East title or dash it away all together.

And since we are on the topic of Mangini, I must give him a writer's apology because he's doing a better job with the Jets than I thought, and feel it may not be a first year fluke. Watching the Jets play made me realize this guy paid attention to detail during his time here.

Well, I'm not going to get into the loss because the loss isn't the big story, it's the s**t storm that has been brewing since the end of the game about comments being made and how this team has been playing very uncharacteristic Patriots football.

Bill Belichick has admitted two weeks in a row that the coaching wasn't up to par, and he is right. As I said last week, I'm glad he's stepping up and taking the blame. IMO... After this week's loss, I truly think Belichick prepared for these games on a personal level, and that is when coaches tend to make bad decisions. I think he was so entrenched in beating Peyton Manning and Eric Mangini that he may have lost his coaching focus, hence the possible reason for the uncharacteristic play for the last two games.

I also put the blame on the offensive co-coordinator Josh McDaniels since he's the guy calling the shots, and coaching the QBs. If he can't get the job done, then downgrade him and Belichick should go back to running the offense because the play calling has been horrid since the Minnesota Vikings game when they last played like themselves.

Next… Special teams coach Brady Seely needs to get his unit to read blocking assignments better. Since week one, opposing teams have been benefiting from great starting field position. This unit needs to start hitting their assignments and make tackles on the returnees.

As I have said above, the Patriots have been playing uncharacteristic football. This team should NOT be passing the ball as much as they are. The Pats usually play to a teams' weakness, exploit it, and then capitalize. In addition, the running game that they drafted (Maroney) for is working, and they should be using that.

I don't know what the urgency is with getting the passing game going. This team has prospered from the passing game over the last four years. It's time for Brady to take a back seat, and enjoy the rest. Two weeks in a row the Pats veer away from a running attack that was successful, and they end up getting out played. How do you abandon the run when you are laying down a 4.5 yard-average, per carry, per game? YOU DON'T!

AS I WRITE THIS, NEWS FLASH! Patriots sign 43-year-old veteran FA QB Vinny Testeverde!

Well now... Maybe there is a possible chance that Brady re-injured his shoulder sometime over the past two weeks. Tuesday night, the Pats announced their signing of 43-year old gritty Vinny Testeverde. This leads me to believe that there is a possibility that Brady may be hurt, but was Vinny the best possible FA QB available? I'll have to check my FA report, while wondering why they just didn't bring Doug Flutie back into the fold since he knows the offensive system here? Unless he (Flutie) was asked and he turned it down.

If Brady is hurt, and Vinny is coming in to help this team, then why the diss to Matt Cassell? Is it that they are feeling a veteran is better suited to run this offense at this mid point of the season or will he be the back up to Cassell if Brady is going back in for surgery? Regardless of who is back there the O-Line has to provide better coverage than they did last week picking up the blitzes especially with a guy who can't move that fast.

Either way... It's another reason why the Pats should continue to POUND the BALL down opposing defenses throats. They have the best tandem in the NFL right now so they should be using it to their advantage with the exception of this weekend unless the Packers (ranked 3rd against the run) can falter.

In other Patriot news, the Krafts have announced that the newly laid sodden turf lasted one game after previous heavy rains will be replaced with FieldTurf, a move that the team had originally planned to do in the off-season. It was reported that the problems with the field had to do with the fact that the location of the stadium didn't allow ample sunlight to feed the grass.

I don't know how true this info is, but I can tell you this… A few weeks ago I was cast as a football player for the Disney movie "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, spending several days filming at Gillette, and I must say the original turf was in BAD shape,. And, when I say BAD, I mean BAD. From the 50-yard line out to about the 20, the field was a virtual sandbox. The funny thing was that the sand was spray painted the proper colors. At least its moment was caught on celluloid, and will be featured in the movie.

It's been a while since I had a Sinista Thought… But guess what? It took the divorce of Britney Spears and K-Fed for me to have one to share.

For those of you who have been living under a rock over the past week, Britney Spears text messaged her hubby K-Fed about their impending divorce as he did an interview for Much Music. K-Fed was shell shocked, and now Spears is flaunting her new waistline, and is already out and about the New York lights without a wedding band.

Is there anybody out there truly surprised by this? We all knew K-Fed was a scumbag, we all knew her marriage to this guy was nothing more than a rebellious cry for help that spawned two children who will now end up with a dad who's memory will be nothing more than a trivia question.

But, I must give it up to the scumbag who was set to get $300,000 and limited visitation due to the solid prenup they signed. This guy weaseled his way into one of the hottest women in the music industry, and to be brutally honest… he technically boned his boss, since he was one of her backup dancers while on tour when the relationship started.

So what happens now that their marriage has crashed and burned? K-Fed must give back or reimburse Britney for all the gifts she gave him. But, my question is -- does she really want the album he just released back? I doubt it. As for my reason why I'm giving Mr. Federline props despite the fact he is a scumbag? Because he is a smart scumbag, a smart scumbag that recorded his sexual exploits with his new wife on their honeymoon, and whatever after that night. Now he is threatening to sell the tape to the highest bidder where it may fetch up to $50 million, and since poor Britney hasn't had a number 1 hit in a while, I doubt she has the money to match the offers that are coming out of the woodwork. If I was her attorney, I would let him sell it, and then force the company he sells it to, to give her a share of the overall sales.

As for Britney now being single, should we start the office pool as to who her next boy toy may be? Will she take a break and work hard on her next album, or will she go on the rebound?

If I had to place a bet, my guess would be… comedian Dane Cook or Eminem, which I think would be a "setup" relationship to promote her upcoming record. Imagine a Britney album with Eminem doing a guest spot on it dissing K-Fed? I'm sure Em could spit something that would lay this kid to waste.
